The Cure needs no introduction. Pioneering what we now call alternative rock with hits like “Just Like Heaven”, “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Close To Me” – not to mention innumerable album tracks beloved by hordes of hardcore fans – this lovably dour band is still putting on incredible shows all across the world. They filmed their entire set at last year’s epic Bestival festival on the Isle of Wight, releasing it as a DVD (see excerpt above) and a live album, The Cure: Bestival Live 2011. All proceeds will go the Isle of Wight Youth Trust, which benefits the island’s under-25 residents. Enjoy this excellent rendition of the classic “A Forest”, which finds the band in top form in front of Bestival’s massive crowd.
